Linda Dahl

Singer, songwriter and Degerfors person of the year 2012

Linda Dahl, born 1972 in Degerfors, is a singer and songwriter. Dahl was the singer in the group Angel from Degerfors with songs like Summer in the City and Venus Butterfly. 

Together with Peter Dahl and Thomas Holmstrand Dahl, she wrote the winning song in the Eurovision Song Contest 2000, "When the wind whispers my name," which was performed by Roger Pontare. The song came in 7th place in the Eurovision Song Contest 2000. The trio has also composed songs for The Streets, Sten & Stanley, Drifters, Blackjack, Matz Bergmans, Martinez, Barbados, Face84 among others. 

In 2010, Linda wrote, together with Asa Karlstrom, the song "We can all do something" for Dansband for Haiti. The song was part of a charity project for earthquake victims in Haiti. Some 50 of the Swedish dance bands was featured on the song, which was released as a single and whose income will go to "Doctors Without Borders" and on to Haiti. 

Dahl sang Smurf Hits 1 and 2 in the early 90s, and was between 2005-2009 singer for the bluegrass-inspired band Whiskey & Dynamite. Since 1996, Linda also sings in the group "SOS - A Tribute to ABBA". 

In 2012, Linda and her husband Peter was given the title "Degerforsare-of-the year".
